You could try this place for a de-compression plate

i thought he was saying change them for stronger ones

but surely it would be cheaper to get the standard ones peened

maybe thinking if the rods shorter it will give a lower crown-deck hieght

what difference do the rods make?

same rods, bore size is dif

i think that 1.4xe rods are slightly shorter than 1.6 ones

I can supply gaskets, bearings, pistons etc, if wanted to machine a stock type piston.

Courtenay had success when they did it years ago. But the stock rods are good for 8k or so, so just get them balanced with rod bolts and some low comp/machined pistons, and if poss a cometic gasket maybe 2.0mm thick. But as sumone wil say either tb it or fit a 20xe/let lol

im sure if you can get the propper measurments wiseco(sp) will be able to match up some forged pistons for you..

i would get different rods, pistons, heavy duty crank bearings.

problem is noone has done a propper c16 or x16 turbo conversion they have used spacers insted of getting the correct rods. all them roads end in desaster.

no such thing as 1.7 pistons as such, not sure if its 80 or 81mm pistons to get to near 1700cc. but 81mm pistons are proper forged jobbies and usually high comp

Would i need 1.7 pistons?

overbore would be better as blocks will no doubt be too worn ideally for a re-ring.

could look at some forged pistons and maybe machine the crown to lower the comp or maybe even try someone like accralite, omega, CP, wossner and see if they could do a one off set of pistons.

see if cometic can do a thick headgasket for it or have a decompression plate made with two headgaskets.

Right well i've bought a c16xe, it's getting rebuilt so going to rebuild with with more power, planning on forced induction. For this i need to lower the compression ratio... What head gasket will i need and what pistons can be used?

Also would it be any better reboreing the block?

Any advice will be muchly appreciated + links to project threads of turbo'd 16xe's

Thanks :-)
