corsa sri, all the body panels are designed to crumple in an impact to absorb as much energy from the crash as it can. Of course its going to make a difference!

i bought my bonnet from ab styling billed as a fibreglass one but is actually a metal bonnet with the vent cut in and bad boy'd layered with fibreglass. i'd reccomend that.

Its the inner wings and cross member that are designed to take an impact, body panels have nothing to do with it!!

But the front bumper is mainly cosmetic nowadays anyway, yes it will help in a hard impact but the main point is the bonnet which helps store the energy and stopping everything from reaching the cabin through the bulkhead.

the quality of a fibre glass bonnet depends on who made it, have to agree with the otheres about the safety bit tho. its true

yep - i'd stay away too. Just think how much force a metal bonnet takes in an impact. Thats alot of impact that will otherwise be put directly onto the engine block -> bulkhead/sterrin etc -> cabin area -> ur legs :(

Fibreglass bonnets are probably pretty dangerous in a crash . A bonnet is designed to crumple in a frontal impact, avsorbing as much energy as it can in the process. Fibreglass bonnets are likely yjr shatter on a hard impact, meaning most of that energy from the crash is going to be focused on hurting you.

Ive been told that if you are going to use anything on your bonnet, it should be as strong as steel, because it will bow and mis-shape itself.
