my power wires run across the engine bay from the barrtery to the driver side and past the ecu.
Is that a problem?

If you seperate the audio and power cables you shouldnt really have that much of a problem. Especially where they all cross by the amp

I'm getting the same noise and i've ran the wires down the passenger and driver side.

shrews corsa

posted on 3rd Mar 03 at 18:11

i have done that and its still the same

shrews corsa

posted on 1st Mar 03 at 22:43

ok thanks i'll try that :)

JayC

Should really put the remote down the same side as the power lead cos it has a 12v current flowing thru it.

davec yeah i have the rca and remote going directly down the middle of car and power lead down the passenger side

yeah, as JayC says, you fit it to the altenator although don't expect a massive improvement, they do take away alot of electrical noise to the headunit and standard systems but don't do a great deal to a system with additional amplifiers..... you sure all your signal cables, rca leads etc are run well away from power cables and the cars existing wiring looms?

Thats just them trying to make more money, although I will b changing mine cos it still interferres slightly.

shrews corsa

all my garages have said just replace the alternator

JayC

This is a proper alternator suppressor not one of them ones u buy from ICE shops that u fit in-line with ur amp. U fit it to the altanator, I took mine to a garage and they fitted it for £10.

Would have figured anywhere in the power line between either the amp/battery or the battery/alternator.

I'd personally put it as close to the amp as possible. Still, wouldn't have thought 20A was enough for a lot of installs - that's only 260W max.

i got one today as my amp is picking up interference!
anyone know how to fit one???
