I think the pump from the MPI (SRis etc) Corsas will be fine also.

Was the base engine a 1.48v SPI or MPI? as said above try a bigger pump.

If the original engine was a 1.4 8v you need to change the pump. Either one from a MPi/16v Corsa will do, or one from a 2.0 Cavalier/Calibra/Astra.

I had this problem.

Did the engine sit for very long?
If so try cleaning the fuel rail & injectors.

hi , ok , we put a 2ltr 16v c20xe engine into my girlfriends corsa a few months back , but its never really run right , thought of a couple of things fuel etc. thing is hers started life as a 1.4 8v , i was just wondering who else has done this mod/conversion to there 1.4 8v corsa and what did u have to change , ive got hold of a gsi fuel pump and changed that and it did help a little , just wondering if i needed to get the feul lines aswell ? are they high pressure ones on a corsa gsi as they are on a nova gsi ???
any help much appreciated , the problems shes having with the car is that u can drive it half throttle no worries but when u boot it the car just dont want to know , seems to choke it self and dies ?!?!?!
