its prob single point injection cos it looks identical to a carb, they never fitted carbs to corsas as they were all fitted with cats and therefore injection

Nah - according to ALL official publications (vaux brochures, parkers car guide etc). Not one corsa rolled off the production line with a carb! They were all injection, as the corsa was vauxhalls first proper step into the economy hatch back, so it didnt make sense to carry on using the Carb.

Just to illustrate this, all 1.2 8v corsas were 45 bhp. This was the same engine as used in the 1.2i nova (same engine). If ur mate's corsa used had a carb, it wud b 55bhp (nova engine), and this was never done.

Prob an engine conversion mate, but he didnt no it was done.

The old corsas as some are aware were novas with a different body so im guessing that they probably did come from the nova

Ahh, mystery solved. I was under the impression that when the Corsa was released in 93, so were all the engines. Fuel injection was standard on all i thought. Obviously not! So were the 1.2 carbs from the Nova?

Tis true! Back then it did but as the years progressed and vauxhall became more technologically advanced the cars became injected! My refernece the max power haynes manual

Someone i know at work has a 1993 Corsa Merit 1.2. I was helping him with a knocking problem he heard under the bonnet. I asked him why he has put a carburettor on his 1.2. He told me it came like that as standard. Is it true that the Corsa came with a 1.2 engine with carburettor?
