Ahh yes but 15's with a profile of 45 are very close to the standard diameter of standard 13's with normal 'big' tyres.

it is impossible

but ya just have to get as close as possible

why do 17's ect rub if ya could get the same overall diameter as a 14???

Hey Mike!

The correct configuration that you're looking for is 205/45 R16!

Cheers

Tony

call any alloy tyre place, and they will tell ya the best size to get - got 16's on mine at min but cant remember size - u wont get an exact match in otherall diameter - just as close as possible which will make ya speedo a few mph out

Ive currently got standard 15" 7 spoke SXi alloys, with 185/55 tyres.

I want to get some new alloys, possibly the 16" SRi 5 spokes. If I wanted to keep the overall diameter of the wheel the same - what size tyres would I require ?

(I'm new to all this alloy + tyre business)

Also, are there any places online that sell tyres so I can get a rough idea of prices

Thanks
Mike

edit

ok is this right?

The side wall height of my 185/55 tyres is 10.175 cm. 15" alloy is 38.10 cm.

So my overall wheel diameter is 58.45 cm ..

So if I got a 16" alloy, = 40.64 cm, that leaves 17.81 cm for the tyre.

So the side wall of the tyre would have to be 8.905 cm ?

What is the maximum width of a tyre you can fit on ?

Am I right in thinking I could get 200/45 tyres - thats a side wall hieght of 9 cm ... I think

So is that close enough to 8.9 cm ? Would it muck up my speedo etc ?

Or are my calculations completely wrong.

What would you alloy gurus advise in this situation.

Cheers, Mike
