remember though that their 1.2 thay they tuned put out around 44bhp, and thats on an 80k miles engine. With all the bits they put on, they got it to 57bhp, but what is more important is that torque increased to 69 lb/ft. Thats not bad at all considering the engine capacity etc. That particular 1.2 with those mods would pull very well indeed.

that issue was pretty gus bought it just for that but its all pretty complicated stuff and after all thye did to thiers they it still didnt have as much hp or torque as a 1.4 8v so i relly wish id have got 1 now only 1 group higher in insurance too!

There was a whole feature in last months total vauxhall mag on tuning the 1.2 8v lump, so it might be worth a try getting hold of a copy!

erm BFO sounds good, but ur acceleration will drop seriously with it. They design was created expecially for the 1.4 and 1.6 16V engines, and i've found significant power decreases with the BFO cone on my 1.2 8v. I think this is mainly due to it being too large, in comparison with the engine size.

If u want to run ur 1.2 8v at its best, use a std airbox with holes drilled into the bottom (away from engine) and slap a K+N filter in it. Put a straight thru zaust on it, but use a Nova GTE manifold (said to give up to 5bhp). Give the engine a thourough service every year, andm ake sure ur using good quality spark plugs, new HT leads, decent oil etc. Oh and try and stick to 15"s to minimise performance probs caused by large rims.

Rember De-cat is a failure point on MOT unless you know someone who is willing to ignore it at an MOT place.

I have just got a stainless pipe to go from the cat back to the back box, I have been promised it will increase my exhuast noise, not yet got it fitted, but I will tell you when I do if this post is still knocking around.
