quote:  at the above. If u were to drop 80mm on std shocks u'd b mental anyway. U'd eat thru ur existin shocks, the ride/handling wud be appauling and above all, it wud prob b dangerous as well. I wudnt ever even suggest -60mm to anyone on std shocks. Ur DEFINATELY gonna have to uprate ur shocks all round, to good quality ones as well - summat like Bilstien etc. I severly doubt shocks such as GMAX/APEX will handle that kinda drop either. But tell u wot, it'll look mental. Dont worry bout arch probs mate, coz there are ppl on this board with -65mm drops on 17"s with simple debolting etc. sorted Matt

I was going to uprate the shocks aswell, not just go for a spring drop. I will have to chuck Spax an e-mail to find out if they can help me out. I feel though that if I go for a drop that low then I am going to have to keep replacing stuff, I will probably just go for 60mm drop, just trying to see what my other options are because I think it would look great with a low drop!!

I think you would be better of spending the extra cash on coilovers to start with, rather than having custom springs amde up and having to kepp replacing standard shocks. If you want something that really stands out why not go for airbags or hydraulics? leave the car slammed when you park it and raise it up to cruise over speed bumps :)

shocks would last 2 mins that low, just get coilovers, u can get em for 250 from germany.

Your only chance would be to get hydraulics or coilovers. Both expensive im afraid!

You would have a really harsh ride if you are riding on the bump stops! Your suspension would no doubt fail after long too, also, you may find that the car will dart al over the road tram-lining and following potholes etc in the road.

I dont think I am going to get major problems with it that low, arch space will be minimal and debolting etc will be done but I think I should be fine with a 70mm - 80mm drop.

i dont think that u can get 80mm springs off the shelf, u'll probably have to get them custom made.
