Kris TD

U soldered every single connection on the plastic thing back onto the board? how u do that? do u know what I mean its the plastic ribbon with the conuctors inside that sticks on to the end of the board. Never really thought of doin that, any tips? I'm an avionics engineers so I fairly good wit electrics so should be able to do it

just press the clip and pull it fairly hard (but dont damage wires) and the connector will come out from the back of the MFD then is completely loose. Easy!

I thought that but on investiation its the plastic strip witht he conductors thats goes from the main circuit board to the display that has partly come unglued, i tried fixing it bit its a near impossibility to get evry one of the lines to stay in place at the same time

Just a thought, but if only half the display is out, could it be a blown bulb?

stuff from scrappys are a gamble m8, but if its only a fiver, then even if it dont work, u've not lost loads of cash, if it does then its money well spent :) 136 quid :! - robbin gits

I just range vaux xause i need a new MFD casue mine isn't woking properly, (only showing temp and half the date) and they want £136 for one! LOL

So I've decided to go get one from a scrap yard!

I thinks its a stupid price I would rather have a new one though or one I know is def workin does anyone know where I can get a new one or one that is guranteed to be workin fairly cheap? cause i can get one from a scrap yard for a 5er but not 100% it'll be workin so willin to pay abit more than that if can be sure!
