Common on vauxhalls during the summer, the grease melts in the switch and it can stick in the 'crank' position.

When i start the corsa up, it turns over and then once its running makes a whirring sound, presumabley the starter motor turning when it shouldnt be, then if you turn it off it continues to crank itself untill the engine slows down ans stops, it takea about 4 or 5 tried to get it to run without the starter still turning.

Is this a faulty starter? or is it dodgy wiring? i have recently replaced the ignition switch and all the wire colours matched up etc. Any help appreciated
