mine did that this morning, its gone now, sounded like my tappets was realy loud but after a few mins of idling it went, at 1 point i throght it was my fan belt, as it somtimes makes a noise (dunno how)

engines are always louder when they are started from cold - engines arn't designed to run cold!

For the past few days on cold mornings ive started my car up & it seems to be making a loud ticking noise. Is this just cos its cold or is it my tappets or something.
