Its an earth problem mate i had the same prob. You cant earth to the back lights you need to earth it to another point. Try the boot lock catch or the rear seat belt bolts. If you want to do it right you should drill a hole in the bottom of your boot scratch off any plastic or fabric round the area and screw it down tight as this connects it straight to the chassis.

no the remote turn on wire always comes on with the headunit, there is no setting to shut it off. Its more than likely the remote wire as stuart said, but if not, check your ground. Sometimes you get a floating ground, even if the ground point worked fine in the first place.

right ive just finished wiring up my amp and subs.

im sure the power light came on at first but now theres no power goin to the amp and the power light wont come on.

checked both fuses (inline and the one on the amp itself and thier fine)

the connection between the amp and the power cable seems fine and so does the connection to the battery.

not sure what else it could be? mate said it might be the earth (its on one of the screws behind the plastic bit that comes out to gain access to the light)? any1 help me?

cheers
kenny
