there is no 1600 8v is there ??????????????????????? new 1 on me lol

oh right, my mistake - its only the 1.2 16v which has chains.
and the 1600 8v was quicker than the 16v cos the lack of emmision handling i think and bits like that, but as rule of thumb the 16v is quicker i thought

It'll be a belt mate. 16v engines have got cam belts not chains

my 16v has a cam belt too, it snapped! Got new engine now so all is well.

0-60mph in 11.1 seconds
111Mph Top Speed

its not a cam belt BTW with th 16v engines its a chain which doesnt need to be changed as often as belts ;)

90bhp 0-60 in 10.5s approx

as for servicing, dont take it to vauxhall to get the belt changed, they charge you an arm & a leg

yep its an ecotec engine, 16v then, thanks bud. what performance figures am i looking at with this engine? the cam belt and pullys need changing how much am i looking at for this?

Mikorsa16v

And if the engine looks kinda big and has covers its a 16V. If its small with no covers its an 8V.

Gambit

it'll be a mpi

if it has ecotec written on the engine under the bonnet it'll be a 16v
