age of engine - if engine dont have cat - car dont have to

yeah that rite is the age of the engine cos i just took mine for a mot (2.0 16v turbo) and mines pass without a cat cos the engi e was from car that had no cat on it.

No it should go on the age of the engine. You may need some proof that the engine is from a pre-cat era!

Pretty sure its age of car, although it may be worth checking out for definate before you go ahead.

If you buy a pre 1993 2.0 engine without a Cat on as standard will it fail the MOT or does it go on the age of the engine?
