black smoke is overfuelling not oil, check the pipe to the map sensor and just check for air leaks

yeh its the dry and wet fouling, they came out a sooty matt black.

I have recently fitted a powerbox, but the car was fine for 2days b4 it started playing up.

and duno how much i had in tank before i filled up but the light was on for a good amount of miles, and i filled up with a 10er (student amount lmao)

so how much did you fill up by at the petrol station, and also how much did you have in your tank before you filled up mate?

for your sparkplugs

http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/technical/diagnosis.htm

depending on colour/texture thats whats happening.

Black smoke isn't a good sign, thats oil burning someplace, not ideling correctly can be air/fuel anything along those lines to be honest

right so service car 2day, changed;

oil
oil filter
sparks
fuel filter.

now the problem has changed.

it now revs up fine, but idle's lumpy, like it used to when the egr stopped working but thats unplugged and had been for ages.

also sprayed oil out exhaust (tiny splats on floor) and was black smoke while cold.

any ideas??

cheers

as it says, sputtering/bogging at low revs, up to about 3,000

its worse the lower the revs.

idle's fine though?

any ideas?

cheers
