the 12v to your coil pack is always live its the 2 that pulse when the engine is being turned over that would of told you crank sensor. glad you found the problem anyway just unplug the crank sensor and wiggle it out it is possible

Glad you found the problem , had a word with a mate today about this the eml should have told you the crank sensor was faulty this is what caused the wrong diagnosis, the sensor sends signal to ecu then ecu sends signal to coilpack to fire plugs as you had no signal from ecu then no spark, this can also happen with ecu faults and earth faults on ecu. you can always sell on the coilpack, funny but had my sport for three years and never had a problem I must be lucky.

I suspected this would happen when you posted that you had 12v going in on the old one, like you said give the new one a good new earth, i will run this problem by my mate a auto sparky, is the scorpion just a alarm or immobilizer also, and check your ecu connections and the ecu earth also.

New coil pack fitted. No spark. Im getting pissed off with this now as i am getting a live feed from the plug going into the coil pack.

If you have 12v going into the coil thats good so could be no out put from coil to plugs so could still be coilpack but could also be something else we will have to see what result you get with the new pack. :

Does the ECU light come on when you turn the ignition on and go out while your turning it over?

As above coilpack or possible alarm ,but coilpack would be the first thing to check.

put a voltage tester on the plug for the coil. one should be live one should be earth and the other two should pulse when you turn the engine over. if it does then its the coil if not then you need to look elsewhere
