Try GSI insurance tel. 01933 411 888 and ask for Marcus... (dont speak to anyone else as the others are hopeless when it comes to modded cars!!!) Marcus is ok & will do anything possibe to help you get the best & cheapest quote... Its always worth a phone call??? Just be honest with him, & tell him wot u wanna do or wot u have done to ya car? Good Luck!!!

I was getting silly quotes to insure my car myself so I'm still insured under my parents policy with CIS for £750 (1yr NCB)
I'm 19 driving a 1.2 16v GLS
Mods are... alloys, full suspention kit, stereo and induction kit.
All declaired at no extra cost to the price I pay for insurance.

I'd recommend CIS as I've not had any problems with them, they gave me a really cheap quote (compaired to everywhere else at the time) and they are quite freindly about modifying.

i am 18 the price is on a corsa 1.2 my dad told me to get a cheap corsa about £1500 and max that up then insurence it on 3rd party fire and theft for the first year. budget quoted £2600

I read before that each mod has it's own price and i think a back box or new air filter was another £60. Tell you the truth bud if you are gonna mod wait till you've got a few years no claims your insurance will be less my 1.4i 8v costs me £1400 so im gonna give it till i got some no claims then add a back box and induction kit. its the safest wya cos you can guarantee that some arse will bang you whilst you've spent a fortune on mods! nearly had it the other day!! women drivers!!

Im with tesco. Im paying 1600 a year for a 1.2 club 16v. They wont insure me with ANY mods, not even my new sony head unit. They wont give me an answer why. I had one bump over a year ago, but I cant see why that would prevent them insuring me for mods, plus im in a low risk area.

AJ890

cheers viera i got a car insurence qoute with tescos for £2300 and then to declare mods this would rocket up. so can you just declare the front bumper, alloys and and other specificparts istead of everything

to be honest mate, we get this post all the time but never get a final answer as as it depends on the insco they use. Most people decare as if you stack the car, most ins co will refuse to pay out if mods are not decared. Some take the risk, some don't, best way to find out price is to phone your ins co and tell them you are thinking of modding and what their policy is.
