It wouldnt be illegal to carry an odd size spare only to use it. | |

if u get a 14" rim with say a 165/85/14 tyre stands it up against a 16" with a 195/45 16 tyre and they will be at the same height give or take few mm's | |

as long as the tyre size/profile gives the same or very similar overall rolling diameter there shud be no probs | |

its actually illegal to carry a smaller spare wheel to the size wheels that u have on your car, i.e 17's with 14'' spare wuld be deemed illegal in the eyes of the law! :! | |

my mate had this problem. he sez 2 look in the paper or here in classified section for some mug whose smashed his car up and only got 2 alloys left etc. therefore hell be glad 2 sell em cheap and u can stick it on if u have a problem. Thats wat he dun and it worked wen he got a nail through his tyre on the M1! | |

Aren't the space savers just thinner in width than the standard tyres.Hence they save space where ever stored in the car. | |

yeah man wot else do i pay AA for every year. However i've always wondered this. THose space saver's r used on punto's and saab's wot do they do :boggle: | |

I have always wondered this,i wish to buy some alloys but can only afford a set of 4.Wot do u guys do when u brake down,u cant put ur lil 13inchy back on next to a set of 17s,what do u do? |
