yeh i thought it may have been that, also changed the radiator fan switch coz that didnt work and flushed it all out with a hose pipe, could this av caused an airlock?

i had this problem and needed a new thermoswitch/ sensor at the cost of £12 but since youve already replaced it id keep hunting for an air lock

the heaters work fine and very hot

let the car warm up with the coolant tank lid off.. Squeeze all the pipes.

Do your heaters work? If they dont then its pretty much certainly an airlock.
