have you tried a new battery?
Earth side of things is the most common problem on most makes of cars, poor earth, short circuit ect.

high performance engines people use earthing kits witch just gives a very good earth for the engine and gearbox ect!

normally the Earth going from the negative terminal to the gearbox brakes as it gets brittal when old!
check this first.
bad earths can cause all sorts of issues! had a corsa that the clock reset itself when a door was open lol that turned out to be a bad earth,

can you give more info on the earth lead problem as i also have a tigra that doesnt work....

when you turn the key it just goes dead.. .all the lights dim and it just sounds like a flat battery... however... the battery is fine...

more info would be brilliant

(p.s.) sorry to jump on your thread... it might help you too... :D

You swapped the ecu when you swapped engine why ?, have you now got a ecu that does not mate up to a ign key chip?, replace your original ecu and try again.
