I'm not too sure if I'm honest. My step Dad sorted it all out for me.

Oh right. Mines in the boot too and has always been a bit hesitant starting. Think I'll try a bigger one that'll fit in the tray. Cheers lads

THe stadard one you will have should be an 063. If you have had no problems with it till now it will probably be fine just getting another one the same. If you want to go slightly bigger though the next one up is an 065, should fit in your tray no problems :)

Is the standard one supposed to be 55 amps? It always seems a bit slow turning over.:|

I wouldn't say you need a bigger battery, diesel batteries are bigger because the starter motor is beefier and uses more current because of the high compression of diesel engines makes it harder to turn over.

I just went down to the motor factors and got the biggest that would fit in the tray, it was a Varta one and worked perfect for 4 years till I broke the car.

Afraid I dont have the battery anymore though so cant tell you the number

I'm having some battery trouble on my LET Corsa. The battery is one for a standard GSI I believe has a rating of 55 amps.
Do I need to have an uprated/bigger battery for the conversion? If so what sort of size/rating should I get?
