You can use your standard shafts. You can even use the standard F10 gearbox but I wouldnt suggest it :)

i would change the cam belt water pump and clutch and release bearing before it goes in, as you have hardly any room to do them whilst the engine is in the car

quote: if i recall you need the outer bits of the shafts....you can use it but if you give the car stick constantly you will always be changing gear, this could also lead into a reduced top end mph wise as the ratio's within the gear box are completly different for a 1.6 and it might blow up, just depends if you are bothered about that really. with the belts, you can get kits for them, i looked into this just say no air con or power steering and they will give you a belt

quote: Im confused, because If I can use my 1 litre box then I can still use my driveshafts etc surely? Would there be any problems with using my box, as it is under warranty so would like to keep it. Ive already got 1.6 sport brakes, and my fuel pump is out of a 1.6 tigra. Its more the wiring im bothered about. Also what belt would I use as I wouldn't be using the power steering pump? [Edited on 03-12-2008 by harrisp]

Easiest/probably cheapest way would be to find a written off 1.6 with rear end damage and swap engine, box, suspension, anti roll bars, wiring loom ecu etc

you need shafts from a 1.6 sport or gsi, fuel pump, calipers and carryers from a 1.6 or above engine box loom ecu transponder chip and the ring. i think you just change the engine loom nothing else, on your gearbox you can use one from your 1L but idealy you need one off a 1.6, inlet and exhaust manifolds as well off the 1.6
