basically...

you got your egr valve that bolts to the cylinder head, exhaust gases flow thru it and bypassed through into the inlet to help keep emmissions tip-top

what people are saying is get a blanking plate, sandwich it between egr valve and cylinder head and it will cut off the flow of gases, you cant brdige the wires so leaving it plugged in will stop engine light coming on:thumbs:

so in affect say if there is like 2 wires going into the egr.. i could jus bridge the two wires together and the ecu will think everything is normal it just wont have egr connected?

your car WILL NOT fail an MOT without it.

Mines blanked off and it breezed through the emissions test.

so just blank it off and put the egr itself (still connected) under the scuttle panell, and it will still run okay?

blank the hole and move the egr up under the scuttle panel so its still connected to the loom.if you disconnect it the eml will stay lit

You have to blank it off because if you remove it you will have the engine management light on all the time. Its a round thing at the battery side of the engine under the inlet manifold if I remember right.

Not sure where you can buy a blanking plate from but I managed to just cut out a piece of metal and used that in between the EGR and the head
