all new vauxhalls wont really let you go past a certain amount of revs when cold especially the diesels drove hundreds of them but it shouldnt be shuddering id go for what matt says, it should only feel like its hitting the rev limit not shudderin

I no it cant miss fire, what i mean then is it stutters when the turbo kicks in for 5 minutes untill it warms up, i dont understand how it can only do this while cold????

It cant miss fire its a diesel it has no spark plugs

im not im only going to 2500 revs, not exactly full revs. The car starts fine everytime, so thats not the problem

seriously its meant to do it. Its kind of like a rev limiter on a petrol car. Modern bmw's limit the amount of revs you can use untill the engine is warmed up.

It cant miss fire its a diesel it has no spark plugs

its never been a problem on all three of the combo vans i've driven that did it (y17dt engines) and my friends 1.7 dti sxi does it too but then i'm not giving a cold engine full throttle.

Surely they are'nt meant missfire when starting from cold?

Does it always fire up 1st turn of the key or does it struggle to start?

cheers but apparently it never used to :S any other ideas or would it be best to send it into the garage just incase?

They all do that.
Its meant to do it when the engine is cold as it helps to prevent wear when the engine oil isnt up to temp.

solution= stop booting it when cold let it warm up

Does it struggle to start?

My 2.2 DTi Vec used to do this and eventually it wouldnt start at all.

It was the injector seals and the problem was air in the fuel system in the mornings.

Hey,

Just bought a Vauxhall Corsa C 1.7 Dti 02 plate. Everythings running fine except for the first 5 minutes when the engines cold. When you accelerate up to about 2000 revs it seems to mis fire just as the turbo kicks in and judders until you ease off the accelerator.

I have tried changing the fuel filter on advice from a friend but this made no difference!

Any tips/ideas would be muchly appreicated!

cheers
