if you have wired up a switch to turn it on when ever you want make sure the wires havent chaffed and touching causing it to blow fuses

Well I would not be happy with that if it was mine, I would change the rad switch and the stat and flush the system, prevention is better than a cure like a blown head gasket.

Could be the fan motor as luke85 said , replace the switch, mine cuts in at 93ish if yours does not cut in till over 100 then you have a problem.

If the fan is stiff or old then it can start blowing fuses, let it warm up and see if it works again, its it easy to spin by hand?

ok so earlier i noticed the switch i had wired up for my rad fan wasnt working... i let the car warm up and voila no fan kicked in.. checked the fuses.. 5 in from the left on the bottom row and it looked fine.. swapped it anyway and fan kicked in.. |
