no coolant loss at all, i keep a very close eye on it.
if any coolant is leaking in, it must be an extremely small amount.

as of today, i have noticed a very subtle missfire even when warm
placing my hand over the tailpipe, i can feel 'an irregular heartbeat'..
no water vapour or other signs though.

i hate this. thanks for your immediate help though, i appreciate it

i have a p-reg 1997 1.2 eight valve C12NZ
95 thousand miles, owned and maintained carefully for three years.

the engine has suddenly and fairly recently developed a missfire after starting from cold
the engine turns over and fires perfectly, as per usual
but nine times out of ten it suffers from a mild-violent missfire.

i hold and stabilise the revs at fast idle for approximately one minute,
then the missfire eventually settles down and the engine performs normally.

my ignition leads are a year (15k miles) old
my spark plugs are the same and have been cleaned/inspected
i have purchased and fitted a new distributor cap
i have recently replaced the coolant temperature sender in the inlet

i am well and trully confused and losing confidence in the car's reliability.
the problem is not logical and intermittent,
please help or offer advice/ suggested questions :(
