Then get yourself off to a garage to check the tracking.

It took me longer to jack the car up and remove the wheel than it took to change it.

You need a long bar to lever the track rod down. By doing this it'll stop the nut spinning. Remove the nut then put it back on a few threads and wack it with a hammer. It should then pop out. There is a nut that'll be on very tight! When you slacken that off finger tighten it back up and twist off the track rod end. Count the turns! When refitting the new one, count the turns back on.

Easy if you can get the buggers to unscrew.

You need to take the wheel off. Pop the balljoint off the hub arm. Then unscrew. Screw new one in, then get tracked up.

And if you accelerate it goes straight?

Mine used to do that. I thought it was funny, steering with the accelerator peddle.

Track rod ends. Jack the front end up and see if you can wobble the wheel.

If one side does move CHANGE THEM BOTH. I change one 2 months ago. Just changed the other side on friday. It'll save messing around again.

Then go get your car all tracked up and it'll handle again

Just noticed in my car (98 corsa b x16xe with pas), that my steering feels unbalanced, feels heavy sometimes and light others.

Also when accelerating hard the wheel seems to pull all over the place?

and when sharply accelerating from slow speeds i hear a clunking noise?

any ideas?

thanks
