Wheres the vacum pipe then bud ,, is it that silver thing on top the manifold ?

When you remnove the secondary air pump and valve you have to cap the little vacuum pipe to stop it sucking air in. Any open ended or split vac pipes will play havoc with your idle, yes

just been reading through a few topics and something is concerning me ..

i had my EGR Valve blanked and my SAP removed,, the lil thin pipes which orginally went to the SAP arn't plugged in anywhere, could this casue my car to play up ? ...

also i found a broken vaccum pipe ,, would that cause it to idle funny ? aswell as having no speedo (due to my cable snapping)

by the way my car is a 1.4 16v SRI :)

Thanks

tried a new coolant temp sensor.they can sometimes make it overfuel and are you running a standard fuel pressure regulator?

Hmm reading another topic earlier and checked my spark plugs and the ends are black ! so apparently its overfueling bad ? what causes that then ?

also changed my plugs and still seems the same but they havn't gone black yet ...

spark plugs, ignition leads, or coil pack is where i'd start as far as a misfire goes fella.

Your idle proble is caused by your speedo problem in your other thread, you need to sort that out first. Are you sure you have the cable screwed in properly? Its hard for us to say why its not working really so it needs a bit of detective work on your part, jack up one of the wheels and have a mate spin it while you look down at the part you screw the speedo cable onto to see if it turns

**Firstly sorry for the amount of topics**

.. again more facking problems with my car

got some problems with my idling firstly coming up to junctions or when i dip the clutch my revs drop really quick and often cuts out .. also when on tickover it missfires now and again ? and if i boot it slightly,, it pops flames ? ?

secondly a full tank of fuel last maybe 1 - 1/2 hrs driving if that and a really strong smell of fuel from exhaust .. ??

could these problems be cause i have induction kit ?

also my car is a 1.4 16v and i have had the EGR Valve blanked also i have replaced the ICV for a new one ???

any ideas what could cause this ?

Cheers again

Steve
