if it was the oil pump your oil light will show, as there will not be no oil pressure.. ive had 2 oil pumps go in a short space of time...
there will be sh*t loads of metal filing in your oil... if there are then get your wallet out

yeh if the water pump goes then the fins inside will be rubbing on the casting of the pump.had it with my gf's tigra not so long ago.without hearing your sound it's hard to say though.

Sorry yeah, manifold too...

Sump plug off + drain the bugger, take sump off... then all will be revealed...

So - re: Sump pan,

If there no bits in it, does that eliminate "insert caption"?

:boggle:

Tick over / running normally...

Ie, churning happens // more at 1500 rpm rather then 900 if you know what i mean...

For example when an engine is "tappety" You rev it + then the tappets make more noise // so its kinda the same principal only lower in the engine + a different noise... (A noise i dont like the sound of too much t.b.h.) :(

Hard to explain but its always there just louder when you rev it a little

As above...

Sounds like grinding metal, somewhat churning in the bottom of the engine...

Suggestions anybody or is it new engine time?

A bearing in the bottom end?

Something to do with the sump?

Oil pump maybe?
