I would assume the clock part of the MFD is faulty in that case?

yeah but as i say before it was working fine ie the clock remebered the time every time i switched it on. in past few days its just stopped working. even when i press the buttons to change time it doesn't do nowt. and i still have the radio station presets o loaded so i'm presuming the battery is ok. tried the brightness thingy but still no joy. its up as bright as will go.

Ah, sorry I only scan read it. So the clock zero's when you turn the lights on? Sounds like it is somehow wired up on a switched live rather than a permanent one so it doesn't have a 'memory'.

have you tried moving the slidy thing by the lights? that turns the brightness up and down, i thought mine was broken but it was very dim when the light were off

Hey folks when i forst bought the car it was sitting for a few weeks as i hadn't passed my test. when i switched ignition on the clock would always restart. i put this down to the battery being flat after a few good drives the clock worked fine.

but just the other day the clock wouldn't come on untill i switched the interior/exterior lights on, even then the clock resets.

any suggestions folks? mayby a fuse gone or something?

 thanks
