you mean the bottom of the inside of the inlet is filling up?mine was doing this also.if it's not blowing oil out the rocker box seals i would try doing the mod before rebuilding it see how that goes.

quote: Yeah the inlet manifold has a puddle of oil when ever I check. Hoping the rebuild will solve it as my stem seals are knackered. I'm thinking of getting a catch tank anyway just incase as it causes me massive power loss and massive miss-firing.

There should be an outlet on the rocker? My TU has 2 oil outlets that clog the air filter up a treat. Have a look at pics from people who have fitted them before.

Well mine currently blows so much oil I can cover a 3 lane motorway with smoke so I resulted to a rebuild.

if it's breathing too heavy/too much crank case pressure then yes.i tried the rocker box mod then a catch tank but nothing would stop it.it just kept blowing oil out the rocker cover.

Would a rebuild stop an engine blowing oil up top?

drilling holes in the baffle plate of the rocker box to stop oil going into the inlet (on c20xe engines)

to catch oil before entering your PCV and dirtying up your intake. It's a so-called fix to the oil consumption on some cars that naturally suck it through the PCV.
