vauxhall or a car factor place

you could change the timing chain, but only a need if its noisy tbh

Check ebay for head gasket. I linked one for someone on here for £25 yesterday, but for an x16xe, I think

As a thought, surely timing chain wouldn't need to be changed? Or does it suffer same consequences as belt?

Ah thought so, wanted to make sure just incase, thought it may have been sumin else just incase.

Have got prices for all service parts so far and waterpump , and did have a price for T.belt but seems to be a chain now so better double check it, but need price on H.gasket kit still!

Anyone got any guide lines!?

Sure i'll find a way around it!

It only apply to the 16V or 8V aswell if there is an 8V version?

Whats the engine code most likely to be??

Richie B:- I would be saying that to her but i don't know her tho so can't really give her much of a battering, but 50,000 for £600, not to bad personally.

Jambo166:- Yea? Suppose it does makes sense as it's in bits, only prob is she's a student! lol

So recommended then timing belt and waterpump, anything else worth considering?

makes sense 2 do the water pump and timing belt while its all in bits:thumbs:

Personally, I'd look elsewhere. 5 door corsas aren't the most desireable so are cheap enough for a decent one.

Hi all,

A friend of a friend is considering buying a corsa B 5DR T-reg 1.2 8/16V (unsure how many yet)

She has her suspicions that the head gasket is on the way out.

If it is, i know the head-gasket, bolts, seals and other little bits are required for a newly installed head-gasket.

But is there anything else worth while doing while head-gasket is being done, eg timing belt, waterpump etc etc Or follow the golden rule, if it aint broke, don't fix it kinda thing?

Whats your opinions?
