Thinner oil will also piss out of every seal gap on older engines. | |

ok then. 5W40 is the same thickness as 10w40 when its up to temperature but 5w40 will flow better on cold starts than the 10w40 | |

Unless your tappets are noisey when cold that is, then 10W40 should keep them a little quieter | |

5W40 is better than 10W40 and synthetic is better than semi synthetic. Its up to you how much you would want to spend. | |

Can anyone tell me what the best grade of oil is when running a 2.0 8V engine (130 bhp version). At min i opted for 10/40. |
