what it was, was, where the 'cable' ends at the peddle, in like a ball shaped end, it had popped out of the plastic insert in the top of the clutch peddle. i just clamped the cable with some mole grips so that it wouldn't press in, and then pressed the peddle down and the end just clicked back into position!!

happy days!!:)

The cable might need re-adjusting / tightening up?

When the cable snaps the pedal normally goes as far down as it'll go. Sounds as if it has tightened or got caught on something?

Does the clutch still work? Sounds like its stretched or something has snapped.

hi
my daughter says that when she got out of the car this morning the pedal was at its usual height, but when she got back in this evening the pedal was a lot higher. i have had a look (not that i know what i'm looking for!!) and the pedal is as high as it can go ( it hits a metal stop, type thing). has something bust or does it just need re-adjusting?

the clutch still works fine and the car is a '51 corsa club, 1.0l
