I had the same problem in my vectra.

Cable was fine but it had jammed and the cog that controls the heat between hot and cold had popped off the runner.

When you turn between hot and cold can you feel any resistance at all like you should when it switches between hot and cold, also you should also hear the change in air flow.

Well eel, Ill have it on hot to desteam the windows, but it gets very hot indeed, so id like a mild heat rather than a nuclear one.

Cable has come out of the lever.

Have a feel around behind the dash from the passenger footwell, you'll find it.

I was going to say the cable behind may be loose. Or the holder may have snapped.

Any reasons why this would be? Even with the heaters set right down to cold, its still roasting.

Cable behind it may be loose?
