Basically drill a hole into it but not all the way through then smack a torq into it so it is tight as poss, then remove all elecs from round it, then heat up all the way round it with a blow torch tryin your hardest not to heat up the sensor, when youve got it at a decent temp, quickly get some lighter fluid in a can and spray it on the sensor( it may sound stupid but this works and the gas doesnt ignite as it needs a naked flame) then quickly try and undo the sensor

oh right your inlet is on, as for freezing you can get those pc cleaning air sprays, turn it upside down and voila

You wouldn't get metal filings in the water. Don't drill all the way through it.

quote: As the sensor drops into a waterway to get water temperature, I dont want metal filings in the water, and I cant be arsed taking the inlet off  [Edited on 18-11-2007 by ChrisBoom]

There's stuff you can get from Homebase and the like for freezing pipes during plumbing work. Called artic freeze I think. It'll be down amongst copper pipes and plumbing stuff somewhere.
