There both C20XE's.

One has a Dispack, the other has a Dizzy. Early one iirc also came with a coscast head which doesn't go pourus.

Also, the AFM's are different.

coscast heads are just as likely to go porous. its all myths and rumours that theyre not. some early xe;s also didnt have a lambda sensor

true, not hardly hear about it..

the porus head is usually due to tightening the head too tight after a head gasket change..

that's why vaxhall changed the angle tightening setting on the head from 90 90 90 (coscast) to 60 60 60 for a gm head

early have round tooth pully's, and the later one's are sqaure tooth, thats why they are not interchangable

yep...

very early one's had coscast & no cat- 20xe..

c20xe with a dissy & cat - had a gm head

c20xe with dispac & cat - very late one's had a coscast head too

all same BHP if you remove the cat's

late xe's have square tooth pully's, early have round tooth

cam cover's a diff shape on the later one's due to tensioner's

later dispac xe's also use a 3bar regualer, think the early is a 2.5 iirc

the x18xe1 is a far better option than the c20xe. same shafts, gearbox, mounts etc... and is pretty easy to fit. they make 140 bhp and 135 ft/lb with minor mods and are far newer and more reliable. a massive amount lighter as well.

c20xe's have a different ecu and Lambda im pretty sure,

just about emissions.
