Get the speedo fixed and your problem will be solved.

its just had the big end bearings and crank done, however ive just recently spoken to the mechanic that delt with my car and apparently its a wire which connects the ecu to the speedo, which explains the speedo fault and engine management light! hopefully its just a loose connection have to wait and see.

mine did similar, was a snapped wire going to the map sensor, caused it to overfuel and cut out and drop below 1k and die out

firstly -

What was the work you had done? That may help narrow things down.

just recently had alot of engine work carried out on my 1.4 16v corsa sport,
few days after i got the car back the engine management light came on, and i noticed the speedo had stopped working. now it keeps cutting out at junctions and roundabouts, and its definately not me stalling. its getting dangerous :( hopefully its nothing too serious but any advice or ideas would be great  !!!
