Anyone got any advice please?

This is where I was going on about there being a pin 5 but no pin 6, doesn't matter now though, just thought it could help identify which ECU I have?

Also could anyone tell me, from these pics below, where I could find the EGR valve and the ICV please?

 thanks guys.

After trawling through 30+ pages of the site, I've found a list of things to try in the morning. What is an 'SAI' and where is it located?

Whereabouts on the side of the engine?
I thought I had just found it behind the kick panel :boggle:

the 1.0 12v and 1.2 16v's have the ecu's in the engine bay..

the rest of the range have the ecu behind the kick panel

Bugger, thank you though. It's been in to be fixed already and it worked for 60 miles or so but then the problem returned yesterday. It runs very rough and the EM light is constantly on. I was told by the guy who fixed it that it was an air leak, however I've had the throttle body off and checked for corrosion and the like and reseated it using instant gasket just to make sure of no leaks. I'm running out of patience with it now, and ideas aswell. I've checked the plugs, they are fine, I replaced the ignition unit thing, tried the AFM, also the EGR and the ICV. Nothing seems to work so next on my list was MAP sensor and crank sensor.

I've read the guide to reading fault codes, and I have a 16 pin thingy on the car, the guid says bridge pins 5 and 6 to get a fault code reading, however, I don't have a pin 6, just 5. The main ECU box says mitsubishi on it. I'm trying to upload a picture but photobucket is being slow
