Just an update,

Amp now works, it was the remote wire, i changed the crappy one with speacker wire but i ripped the two apart if you get me. Thought as much!

wouldnt risk that tbh, any cable should do just to test it, worth just re checking all settins on amp hu and conections. make sure its a good earth ie bare metal

I'm not 100% but i have powered an amp using my way, the amp didnt work anyway so i was trying different ways and noticed it powered up buy touching the remote socket with the power.

Use the speaker cable as a remote just to be sure though mate

it does sound like the remote wire has broken at some point if it`s the wire from the wireing kits you get there pretty poor best swapping it for a slightly thicker wire

Its a sony xplod 720watt, few years old now tho lol. It worked when i took it out of my old car and not now!

I only say its the remote bcoz when i hooked it up in my old car it didnt work coz i never had a remote wire gong to it, obviously i then sorted one out and it worked.

No lights come on with the power but they didnt b4 until the remote it wired in.

Dont think i have blown it bcoz i always attatch the earth wire first before i put the power cable on. Plus there is 2 fuses on the power cable.

Wud pics of the set up help? Rly starting to pi$$ me off now lol

If it has power then i wouldnt of thought it was the remote wire. Does it turn off when the head-unit is off?

You could of blown somthing quite easily when wiring it up,did you touch any part of the amp but the power socket by mistake with the power cable attached to the battery termina?
Is there enough power flowing through the power cable etc?

Checked the settings on the amp and that any speakers/subs wire's are OK?

Is there an option on your head unit to select the amp on or off?

Give us a spec of what you have so people have a better idea. I hope this helps though

Ive hooked up my amp in the boot and it dusnt work lol

Checked the power supply, there is power going into the amp. Also checked the earth, the is power coming out of the amp being earthed. RCA Cables ae connected and so is the remote wire.

My only idea is the remote wire is f**ked?

Any ideas?

Should i just buy a new remote wire?

or is it something else?
