Yeah, just found out.
Later(1996on cars) had a different fault code system, with 4digit codes.

Hmm, just found this thread.
http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=101080

And it makes sense, my engines 98> so must have had a OBD diagnostics port, with no initiation, and 4 digit codes, it has no port now as the engine isn't in a corsa, lol.

But the fault code page is dead :(

I dont get those problems at all.

Hmm, looking at Topbuzz for Simtex 56.5 codes, if i apply my codes to that list, it makes sense.
1flash, 5 flashes,10flashes,3flashes=1503=immobiliser

But its not a Simtec system! lol Altho Simtec has no initiation code, which mine doesn't seem to have, lol.

Nope, 10 = 0 on the multec too apparently.

Im sure thats Siemens Simtec Only.

Multec is a completely different system, by bosch/gm.

Hmm, fooked ecu, the engine drives/runs fine?

Also, the flashes should start with 12, as the Initiation code, all my multec ecu's have done that, and each code is repeated three times.
This doesn't repeat each code..

Can you definently flash the codes on a late x16xe engine, i think its a 1997/98 model.

Makes the car bog down, run rich and cut out (intermittant though)

Just tried it.
Yup its definently 10 flashes

I seem to get:
Flash---Flashx5
Flashx10----Flashx2
Flashx10-----Flashx3

Then it repeats.

I don't remember ever getting an initiation code on mine TBH, I wouldn't worry about it.

Im going check it was definently 10 flashes and not 9

Although it still doesn't explain why i get no initiation code :o

You can definitely flash the codes on all Bs, yes, mine was a '99 and it worked.

Robin

That would be the quad drive module (whatever that is :o)

Is it definitely flashing 10 times and not 9?

Vaux Lad

Exactly! Its flashing complete crap out

10flashes=0 on a Siemens system

Multecs different no?

Robin

10 flashes is 0, so the code is 03 - which isn't a real code

As above.
Just done an engine conversion, and the ecu light appeared for about a minute when driving and then went off.
So i got home, and earthed the brown/yellow wire(to flash the codes)
Turned the ignition on and the light flashes, but the codes seem to be bollox, and mean nothing on a GM Multec code list? Lol

Each one should be repeated three times, and the first code should be 12.
But mine Flashed-Pause-Flash x 5=Code 15
Pause-10x Flash-Pause-3x Flast=103? WTF  All multec codes are 2 digits?
Then it just repeats....

Any info? Did vauxhall stop letting you flash the codes out on later engines or something?
