haynes manual says to disconnect battery and wait 1 minute. ( iwould give it about 15-20mins just to be sure the capasitor has discharged. then you remove the cover which sits behind the wheel which covers up the ignition barrel. top and bottom part of it if you know what i mean.

then with this removed and the steering wheel positioned in the straight ahead position turn the wheel 90degrees to the left and undo the left hand airbag retaining bolt, then turn it to the right and undo the right side one and return the steering wheel to the straight ahead position.

carefully lift the airbag assembly away from the steering wheel and disconnect the wiring connector at the rear. ( note: the airbag unit must not be knocked or dropped and should be stored with the airbag the correct way up, with its padded surface upermost.

thats should be the airbag removed and fitting is just reversal of removing it.

i learnt at college that you have to..

disconnect the battery and leave for about 30mins-1hour
(allows for full discharge)

then somewhere there should be some sort of on/off device?
(dunno about that one?)

and just generally keep your head out of the way when removing it lol
