you need two lives for the relay, one which yes is the switch but the other is the constant live. the constant live needs to be a live with wires that can handle the current

It doesnt power the headlights, it only powers the relay to allow it to switch on and off when you put your main beam on and off. When you power the relay off the headlights there is too much power for the relay and it isnt fast enough to switch the main beam back off so it stays on until you switch your lights off

errr, you dont want a live from the side lights mate. that wire isnt designed for the current that headlights need.

Done that:thumbs: found a few old relays in a box in greenhouse n my dad wired them in. Jobs a good en! I had to take a live feed from my sidelights to power the relay because the headlights were to powerful to power it n once it was on it couldnt turn off, took an hour or so to get right but in the end we got there!!

Buy a cheap relay and make your self a wire loom for it :), tis what i did. Tbh it was worth it just for the extra light on the road :D

My corsa b 99 has just failed its MOT bcos on my angle eye headlights the main beam and dip beam are separate and when the main beam is switched on the dipped beam switches off. Should this happen or is it something to do with a headlightdip beam relay that was fitted to the cavalier? can anybody help me?:boggle: im not sure if it should be a failure and the MOT testers werent sure either but they failed it anyway BAS***DS!!
