i did everything else just couldnt get bloody thing off. so just pull upwards with a bit of force? whats the best plugs to put in ?

EML is engine management light.

To take the coil off, remove the ecotec cover, then undo the 2 screws in the top of the coil pack and just pull the thing upwards. There are rubber sections coming off the coil pack that go down the holes in the head.....these connect to your spark plugs.

There will be a plug to completely disconnect the coil somewhere to the right of the head.

sorry to take topic but i have the same problem on the same car and i think it is the plugs. but how the hell do you get the coil pack off? unplug and unscrew the bolts then what?

2 common problems i know of that go on these engines:

Air Flow Meter
Idle Control Motor

Do a search, should come up with some others.

Both of the the above items are no more than 45odd quid each if bought from e bay.

Are you getting your EML on?

Hi, Ive got 1.2 sxi 16v 1998 corsa, and it seems to be misfiring, but only when its been idle, say when i stop at traffic lights for a minute.

Any ideas what could be causing it??
