yeah, but not so tight that you can't physically tighten it any more.

When you put the new one on, smear some old oil round the seal, and don't do it up too tight, just tight enough plus a little bit, if that makes sense :o :lol:

thats up to you, its easier and less messy with a proper tool for the job but you could just do it with a screwdriver.

cheers.
iam i best off buying one of them things to get the oil filter off, or the old trick of stabing it with a screwdriver?

Yeah very easy mate.

Basically warm engine up
switch off
remove sump plug
let oil drain
change oil filter
replace sump washer and put plug back in
fill with oil
run till oil light goes out
let stand and top up as necessary
then i always run and have a good look underneath checking for leaks.

I'd just use 10w40 semi synthetic oil from Vauxhall, you will need about 3.5 litres.

last few times ive had a oil change ive gone to ats and me and my brother need a oil change so we were thinking of doing it or selfs, is it easy for us to do?

also what grade and what make oil is best to use on our x14xe engines?

also how much oil will we need?
