headgasket wouldnt stop the fan kicking in. As Someone else suggested i would check the water pump! | |

is he sure that the switch is workin as i tested all the ususla thing when mine did it but replace dthe fan switch and hey presto it was all fine :D | |

my mates got a m-reg 1.4 16v sri with 88k on the clock and its over heating badly. went for a short drive in it to warm it up then left it to idle to make sure the coolant fan kicks in, but it didnt n the car overheated and popped the thermostat gasket n the coolant was boiling away in the header tank. lots of pressure in there!! |
