The fusebox is behind the panel above your right knee when you're sat in the drivers seat.

When you flick the ignition on, the engine management light will flash on in a sequence, you'll want a pen and paper (or something) to note down the numbers.

It'll flash once for one, twice for 2 etc, and 10 times for 0, so a fault code will be like

ten flashes, pause, 2 flashes, pause, 3 flashes, pause, 5 flashes, long pause, then it'll repeat again, then a long pause, and one more time, so you can't miss the code.

After it's displayed all the codes, it'll go through them again.

There's a list of the ECUs with the engines here - http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm

you need to work out which ECU you have, then you can work out the codes.

the plug looks like this -

Topbuzz will be worth reading, as it explains it a bit better ;)

Right, how do i got about doing the paperclip test? I know the plug to do it is beside the fusebox. Where is the fusebox? Aint really took my car apart yet so i dont know. Anyone got any pics of what the plug actually looks like?

Once i find it im guessing i put both ends of the paperclip in an turn the ignition on. Then what should i be seeing?

Thanks in Advance
M.
