dunno really mate i had a very similar prob with a mantzel copy and i found that it was revving at 4k until i changed the map sensor. Also it had a small vacuum leak between the inlet mating faces which didnt help.Make sure all the sensors are plugged in and try resetting the ecu as this all did the trick for me.

cheers dude... will scrappy up on monday :) If it is the map sensor would this explain why me car always used to idle at 1200rpm in the past even when warm ? Possibly pushed it over the edge with the mantzel lol.

id get another map sensor and rule out a faulty one first.I got one a couple of months ago for 10 quid from a scrappy.Try this and report back mate.

update: just checked the resistance accross the terminals in the TPS and it appears to be working normally. Will check the wiring next.

If you have extended all the wiring is it done properly? Not mixed wires up?Also it could be a vacuum leak around the inlet itself.
