the 2 wires are pressure, and the other works the light on the dash. you'll need to sump plug whatsit for temp, or drill/tap the sump and fit it somewhere else

You had a digidash in the old nova, with the c16xe, so if the oil guage worked correctly on that then you have a 2wire sender.

Its a pressure sender, so wont do temperature.

You'll need a temp sender for the sump plug.

Thanks Rob, Yeah ive got a single wire switch at the mo.... so all i need to get is a 2 wire on and i can run temp and pressure gauges?

iirc you can swap the oil pressure 'switch' for the 2 wire one from an astra gte or whatever, to run a pressure guage? thats how its done with digidash conversions

This thread might be a good read.

Lol, the oil pressure sender bolts in the back of the oil pump iirc.

Well it does on 8v's anyway, not 100% on 16v.
But it has two wires.

Any ideas what that is.... on my loom wiring diagram the only green wire with red line is the wire for the knock sensor but it goes to a sensor same as one above and not a normal electrical sensor like a knock sensor

that was your knock sensor rob;)

The one on the back of your block should have a blue/green and a blue/yellow wire, 2wires.

If you have used a digidash with the engine( and the oil guage worked), then the sensor in your block is a proper pressure sensor, not a switch.
Not much oil will come out the hole, as its all sitting in the sump, the sensors bolted into the back of the oil pump, a tiny bit should come out the hole.

Well, i had a few drips when i changed my pressure sender.

C16xe should have a oil pressure sensor( the type that runs a digidash)

I would of thought that should run a oil pressure guage too.
It looks very similar to that one you've posted /\

What about getting an oil filter sandwich plate with the sensor holes in it or is it best to have the pressure sensor near the oil pump??

I got one of these with the gauges i got but i have nowhere to screw it in!

the only place i can see is the back of the oil pump but theres not enough space for a sensor that big!

cant remember the thread size. nut size is 19mm

AHHH!!! that might be why i couldnt get a reading of it on the gauge!

Whats the switch for? Low oil or summit?

Thanks Dave :)

PS... do you know what size the sump nut is on the C16xe?

oil temp: get a sump nut with a sender in it from deamon tweeks.

pretty sure the c16xe pressure sender is just a switch, not an actual sensor.

Wiring in my gauges today and i can only seem to find one sensor, which is the one on the back of the block with i think is the oil pressure sensor.

Ive wired that up to the dash but doesnt change,

Any ideas where i can put oil temp/pressure sensors on the C16xe?
