it will require a new mass air flow sensor what has most likly happened is the heated wire elements in the sensor itself have burnt out so you will need a new one

what are the symptoms i.e missfiring, cutting out. if the vehicel isnt reving up very well (very slow reving) then it will 99% be a mass air flow

do a paper clip test, wont cost you a penny and see what fault code it throughs up. once you no have a good look round the offending part, if all seems well get another one off ebay to see if it cures the problem. if it does mgt be worth looking into buying a new item. main dealer will charge about £50 just to put your car on tech1/2 and tell you what fault code it shows. a paerclip is about 5p.

get a tin of carb cleaner 1st and remove the MAF. then give it a good clean inside, let it dry off and refit it then try again. worked a tread on my redtop

get it pluged in FIRST and it will probly be the o2-sensor, if it is u have to get a gunuine vauxhall one else it just does not make a diffrence as i found out, they only cost around £30 to £50 not much at all and u if u have that done you might find that u dont need your mass air flow meter replacing

Sounds like it could be the MAF fitting is very very easy, you can get a new one cheaper from ebay, have the car diag'd tho or it could be expensive.
